2 Cor.3.18 – But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The secret to growth in the kingdom of God lies in what you see. The word is clearly telling us that when we look into the mirror, we are changed to what is in the mirror. I hope we understand that there are eyes which are in us. These are the eyes which are used for imagination. When I say red car, you picture something in your mind though that car is not around for you to see it. But you will see it in your mind.
And now the message is saying, with these eyes look at the glory of our Lord Jesus. His glory is what he possessed before he came on earth (John 17:5). And we have inherited that nature of glory because we are unlike Israelites who were not able to see the glory of Moses. In Christ there is no barrier that distract us from feeding on his glory. 2 Cor 3:16 tells us that when we turn to the Lord the vail is removed so that we can see the light of Christ. So let’s use those eyes to see the light of God and his glory.
Growing in faith
One might wonder, what grows in a person and how. Natural growth is measured in years and for one to known if they are gaining weight we use a scale. On the other hand, spiritual growth is not measured in years after being born again. There is a writer who once said the word gives growth and prayer gives strength. So what you have overcome because of the word you have tou believe, can never have any charge against you in the time to come. The reason is that you have outgrown the challenge. On the other hand, there is faith which comes because you have prayed. When the same challenges comes and you have stopped praying, it might have charge over you. So tye conclusion of the matter is that we pray as we read the word of God.
We grow in the heart and what changes is our faith. The bible says even faith which is like a mustard seed has the ability to change things. Remember the bible.in the book of Romans 10 says with the heart Man believe. Another method that we grow with is when we go challenges in life. Some challenges, God will allow tobuild up your faith.

The word of God 1
Hebrews 4:2[2]For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
This verse reminds of the Parable of the sower. In a same church building where everyone is hearing the same message yet the results they get is different. Maybe I can take you back to school, imagine learning with someone yet the results are never the same. If some students are going to pass, then the teacher is not the problem. If some seeds are able to produce a hundred fold then the seed is not the problem. The challenge is not the word that we hear but the receiving site. If it is a class, I would say the challenge is with some students. If it is the sower then the problem is with the receiving site. The same gospel preached to John is the same that we received but however, there are some who were not saved by the same gospel.
The challenge is their unbelief. If you do not believe in Christ, books like Romans appears to be difficult for one to understand. I want to suggest something that the scripture highlights, that the Word of God is powerful (Hebrews 4:12), yet to some they do not find it so. The same gospel referred as the power of God for salvation by those who believe is a stumbling block for unbelievers. The same Christ who is a chief cornerstone is the one who was rejected by the builders. Take note that we have the same word but different hearts receiving the word then, different results.

Eternal life
Eternal life also known as Zoe is the God kind of life. This life only is in Christ. John.5.39 – Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. So when we read the scriptures they must refer us to Christ and in him we obtain eternal life. Now from the old covenant this life was never mentioned. It seemed as if God would physically punish people for their wrong doing. The blessings mentioned again appears to be of physical gain more than spiritual. Example includes when that woman caught in the act of adultery her penalty was death which was physical.
Another example is that thief at the cross. According to the law, he was crucified. But Jesus said to the very same men today you be with me in paradise. The life that Christ came with is the light of men. If any one has light s/he will not stumble. In other words, when one has life he will not stumble. Only they who have Christ have this life and they will not stumble. The promise of God in Christ Jesus is eternal life. It is not obtained based on works but through faith. John 3:16 says for God so.loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever that believes will not perish but have eternal life. So the passport to eternal life is faith in Jesus as Christ.
Growth
Every person who belongs to the kingdom of God was at some point born again. When you are born again, you become babe in the kingdom. From that time onwards you have to work on your growth. Conditions for growth must be provided so that we grow. The bible tells us that God gives this growth or increase. But remember we have those who are assigned to water. Remember Paul said he planted, Apollos watered but God gave increase. We cannot afford to have people in church yet not growing. A good illustration would be 2 children with the same parents living together given all are eating, the one who was born first appears to be bigger at most because he has consumed more food. If the older does not eat, we might face a challenge of identifying the oldest. We feed on the word of God which is able to build us up.
